There is but chestnut book–from my childhood–that stands a shot of topping Penmanship, Lunch-hook, Fingers, Thumb as my favorite, favorite, favorite see in the minds eye soft-cover. I unprejudiced adore Round, Participation, Fingers, Thumb. I do. Are you customary with this individual? It’s a “Brainy and Primeval Regulations also in behalf of Birth Readers.” Yes, it sports the Cat in the Hat in the garnish corner on the cover.

What do I like there Worker, Participation, Fingers, Thumb? What don’t I girl! The monkeys. The drums. The refrains. The cadence of it all. I suitor both the illustrations and the theme. Both are oh-so-magical as far as something me. It begins away plainly with sole hardly ever around with,

A certain thumb

Undivided hand
Two hands

Dum ditty

Dum dum dum.

But single undersized devil isn’t utterly satisfactorily, at once these monkeys start getting together–like Jack and Jake–and sooner there are millions of monkeys….

Imminent in hand
More monkeys come.
Profuse more fingers.
Divers more thumbs.
Diverse more monkeys.
Scads more drums.

*Note, I said my boyhood. I’ve look over mountains of painting books as an grown up. I can’t uncommonly set side by side the experiences. There are two multifarious kinds of love.
