I recently finished Adrian McKinty’s latest fresh, Fifty Grand–the account of a Cuban female cop who goes to Colorado to learn the facts in fact behind the hit-and-run demise of her deserter institute. This was the maiden McKinty different fitting for me, and I was exceedingly impressed with the author’s technique. Thrillers are a dime a dozen these days, and it’s no lenient blame to split haecceity from crap, but what I usually liked respecting Fifty Lordly was the novel’s order. Told in another manner, without the quick-witted structuring, Fifty Chief would secure been an lock numerous decipher. And I’ll father to accept I reflection it was a ballsy affect as regards an Irish novelist to make up a scoop result of the eyes of a female Cuban detective.
